Every patient has the right to be treated respectfully, fairly and justly. Care will be provided in a compassionate and dignified manner respecting a person’s language, race, religion, ethnic origin, culture, political affiliation, social status, gender, sexual orientation, age, cognitive ability, physical or mental ability, health status. Care will be provided with consideration for privacy and the personal modesty of the patient; at all times we will acknowledge the patient as a person as well as a recipient of care.

Consideration for the whole person includes recognition that the patient is part of a family and community and so the hospital will make every effort with the patient’s consent, to facilitate their involvement in the patient’s care.
