Urgent Care
Always call 911 for life threatening emergencies.
The Urgent Care Department provides care for unexpected, but non-life-threatening health concerns that require same day treatment. The Urgent Care Department is open 24 hours per day. Patients coming to Urgent Care may arrive on their own, or be transported by ambulance. Patients are seen based on their medical condition not order of arrival. Patients who present to Urgent Care are seen by a triage nurse to determine their acuity level. Patients are then seen by an Urgent Care Physician, Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner. The Urgent Care Department provides diagnostics ( as needed ), treatment, and transfer to a higher acuity facility if required. We use an electronic medical record system, so a record of your Urgent Care visit will be sent to your family doctor.
Wait Times
Wait times can vary, but are generally influenced by the volume of patients and the seriousness of injuries or illnesses. There is a display board in the waiting area which notes how long patients have been waiting to see a Physician. WRHA’s “My Right Care” website provides further information on areas to receive healthcare services.
